Strider folders are not known for flawless craftsmanship unlike Chris Reeve Knives and other custom knife makers. Their main purpose is providing a reliable realistic working folder. Their knives include features meant for heavy use (such as a finger guard), over built pivot & stop pins made of titanium. The lock up works & will not fail but isn't intuitive in any way & is very basic (over time will wear out). The ergonomics were designed for the knife to be capable of doing multiple tasks & therefore is not exceptionally proficient at specific ones. Consider the Striders as all around heavy weights.
    Newer Strider models are evolving all this & seem to represent a dramatic improvement in finish & precision such as the SJ-75 & the Terzuola Collaboration that will be in production next year. The newer lean is towards slicing knives that have more distinct profiles.
