//CONCEPT
// //PERFORMANCE
// The titanium head acts as a reflector that illuminates a very wide spill that makes this a very surprisingly effective light when looking within close distances. This combined with the aggressive diamond pattern machining on the handle make this small light feel very robust. //FINAL IMPRESSIONS
// Again with these small key chain lights they seem to not have much difference but in reality there are little details that add up to a more functional light. This one is one of the better if not best options for this category. High output small AAA lights are not recommended because they have malfunctions. |
//CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN
// Small lights like these can seem all the same and the only feature they have worth looking at is the max output but through independent testing of similar flashlights in this category that feature twist activation the multi-mode lights can stop working. The simplicity of models like the Fenix E01 and this Nitecore TO means no nonsense when an emergency lighting situation happens. // // Another important design aspect is the key chain hole is centered rather than offset so when you connect it to your key ring or on a neck lanyard the flashlight hangs properly and doesn't shift to the side //Smaller details that make the Nitecore better are the key chain attachment point. On the Fenix E01 the hole is on the corner and is more fragile. On the Nitecore the hole is in the center and there's a lot of material around the hole which says it will last longer along with carry vertically and not stick out. The diamond machined pattern on the body also makes the TO have very secure grip that's much better than other brands like the Olight or Fenix.
//ROLE & APPLICATIONS
// Emergency lighting uses primarily. Good for a car emergency kit, small first aid, or on a key chain. |
